How To Organize Your Kitchen Cabinets
There are many benefits to organizing your kitchen cabinets. You can easily create the perfect space and maybe one day you’ll even transition it over into open shelves! There’s nothing quite as satisfying as creating order from chaos when dealing with household chores.

Get rid of the lids that no longer have a partner
It might be a good idea to go through your storage containers and see what you have. You could find that some don’t even have lids. The time spent sorting through these things is worth more than any other gathering action we do while cleaning up at home. Because this process helps me avoid buying anything else entirely unnecessary down the line.
Decide how many cups you really need
I’ve found that by cutting down on the number of glasses and mugs, you will have an overall better feel for your cabinets. Not only does this help with space but also with helping to stay organized. Now, we won’t be just grabbing another one up in our cabinet when there’s already plenty. Instead, it’s keeping track of which ones are being used most at any given time so they can be clean too! According to The Kitchen, adding adhesive under-cabinet cup holders will help.
Check the expiration dates on your spices
You might just find that this is the easiest way to clear out a lot of your cabinet clutter. Some people aren’t even aware spices expire, but they do! This doesn’t mean they’re unsafe per se–it’s just possible their flavor could change and get weaker as time goes on.
You’ll be amazed at how many expired spices sitting on shelves in your pantry once all organized properly and with an easy-to-use system! Get rid of anything past its expiration date (or best used).
Next, organize your spices in a way that makes sense to you. Whether by alphabetizing or simply the ones you use most often is ok just make sure to only keep those ingredients on hand for cooking at home!
Take off the doors and see what you think
You might be thinking that this sounds drastic but hear me out. If you have doors on your cabinets, then it’s just helping to hide the clutter sitting on those shelves and boy is there ever a lot of it! Why do yourself such an injustice?
Why not get motivated and make some changes in your kitchen? Take a few of the doors off, see how you feel with all of that clutter. You might just find yourself spurred on to take action!
Add labels to the doors for your family to see
Labels are a great way to get organized fast! If you have an app for your phone or computer, use it – the difference will be immediately noticeable in how quickly things go back into place. And while we’re on this topic of putting away silverware after dinner… heck yeah labels definitely come in handy here too :)
A label maker is one of those tools that can be used for so many things. No matter what you’re making in your kitchen, it’s going to have a lot more character once marked up with labels! Putting them on the outside or inside doorframe really adds personality and uniqueness too- especially if they’re small enough not to interfere with cabinet visibility when someone opens them up.
Set up the cabinets in a way that works best for how you work in the kitchen
If you’re the one cooking in the kitchen, create a space that is simple and easy for you to work with. Create zones according to what type of food they are storing: spices near where their spoons rest; pots/utensils hanging on hooks from above or below ground level (depending on if there’s not enough cabinet space). Put items away when we find them using this system, so it doesn’t accumulate clutter but also keep our kitchens looking neat!
Use the cabinets that are eye level
A good way to make the most of your kitchen is by using cabinets that are at eye level. This means you’ll be able to see them and use them too! It also means filling up these spaces with items that can easily come out when needed for cooking or storing food supplies during weekdays (and staying organized!).
If you try using cabinets that are too tall or short, this is going to create an awkward and unnatural feel. The right height should match your body type for ease of use in the kitchen as well!
These are just a few simple tips on how to get your kitchen cabinets organized. Some of them may work for you, others won’t but there’s no doubt about it: some will change the way things look and make cooking more enjoyable!
When you’re finished organizing your kitchen cabinets, you’ll have a clean space with plenty of room for all the tools and ingredients that make cooking easier. Plus, decluttering has shown to be an extremely effective way to relieve stress—a problem many people in today’s fast-paced society struggle with!
