- shortening
- egg
- sugar
- flour
- vanilla extract
- salt
- baking powder
- maple syrup

- shortening
- butter
- salt
- powdered sugar
- vanilla extract
- maple syrup

How Do You Make This Fall Trea?
- Beat the shortening, egg, and sugar until combined
- Mix in the vanilla salt baking powder and maple syrup
- Mix in the flour until dough forms
- Knead the dough, roll it a few times, then chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or more
- Use parchment paper to line cookie sheet
- Make a quarter of an inch thick balls of dough
- Smash them a little bit flat
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
- Bake for 15 minutes then let them rest
- Make the frosting by combining all ingredients in a bowl and beating until smooth
