Easy Entertaining with Tai Pei, #TaiPeiGoodFortune, #CollectiveBias, #ad

This time of year is so busy! I don’t know about you but sometimes I feel like I’m running around in circles. I am pulled in several different directions and yet there are still the things I do on a regular basis that still need to get done – like baking for the firemen. They work hard and deserve that treat I send in for their bi-monthly meetings. To make things a little easy on me and very special for them, this month I sent in some authentic Asian egg rolls and spring rolls from Tai Pei for their threat. It was a great week to do it as another fire company from the West End came down to join in the training. It made it seem like a party!

Tai Pei Egg and Spring rolls are restaurant inspired and full of fresh cut vegetables. The egg rolls come in veggie, chicken, pork or shrimp and they don’t stint on the filling. The spring rolls are either mini chicken or veggie. They are easy to bake and come out hot and crunchy.

Three Dipping Sauces, #TaiPeiGoodFortune, #CollectiveBias, #ad

These tasty treats come with their own dipping sauce but I wanted to make the night fun for the firemen so I made three themed sauces for them to enjoy:

[cboxarea id="cbox-IVEtmKHDExiTjpDi"]

Fire Line – Honey Mustard

1/4 cup Dijon Mustard
1/4 cup honey

Controlled Burn – Asian Flavors
1/4 cup tamari
1/4 cup oyster sauce
1 TBS fish sauce
1 TBS grated fresh ginger root

Wildfire
1/2 cup peach jam
2 TBS ketchup
as much hot sauce as you can stand

Just mix the ingredients together for each sauce and stir until they are well blended.

To prepare you just pop them in a 350° oven for 20 minutes. I found they really crisped up nicely using the convect feature. It helps to turn them halfway through cooking.

They had already dug in. My erm, photographer does not understand blogging needs!

I cooked the Tai Pei treats at home and sent them in with the hubby. I told him to pop them in the oven for about 15 minutes before everyone would be ready to eat.

I had cut them in half (on the bias) to make it easier for everyone to dip. I sent in red plates and orange napkins to keep with the fire theme.

Yes, you see cookies. I also baked. I can’t resist baking – I made almond cookies to complement the egg and spring rolls.

So what did they think?

I think they really enjoyed their Tai Pei! In fact every single piece was eaten. (All the cookies were gone too!) What does that say? (Fire meetings are AFTER dinner!) I think that says Tai Pei Spring and Egg Rolls are mighty tasty! I am going to be sure to keep some on hand in my freezer for holiday parties –  and for me.

Mainly for me. Heh.

You can find them in the frozen food aisle of Walmart and right now there is an Ibotta Rebate Offer in play until 12/31 so if you use the service be sure to take advantage! Saving money is always a good thing in my book.
