I have a three year old son and he is OBSESSED with construction vehicles! He can tell you the name of every single vehicle from from log loaders to mixing trucks to excavators. 

I knew this faux dirt recipe would be perfect for him! He loves all kids of sensory activities.

Edible Dirt for Sensory Play Recipe

Ingredients:

7 cups of flour (any kind will work, but I used white all-purpose flour)

1 cup cocoa powder

1 1/4 cup oil (any kind- I used vegetable oil)

A mixing bowl and spoon with the ingredients to make edible dirt.

Directions:

  1. In a large bin, add the flour.
  2. Add the cocoa powder and mix well.
  3. Add the oil and stir.
  4. Mix until it’s well combined.

How do you make fake mud?

Mix 7 cups flour, 1 cup cocoa powder, and at least 1 1/2 cups oil together in a bowl. Add more oil or water until it gets the the consistency you’d like. See above for more details.

It can be stored in any airtight container.

Is this edible dirt taste safe?

Yes it is! But don’t let your child eat a lot. It contains uncooked flour.
