Easy, Lowkey Celebration Ideas For When Everyone Is Having The Worst Week Possible
When Monday was a nightmare, Tuesday was a drag, and Wednesday had you busier than you ever thought possible, those midweek blues can hit incredibly hard! The worst thing? You might not be the only person in your house having a terrible week too!Â
And when there’s more than one of you suffering with the kind of schedule that would have the early bird sleeping through their alarm, stopping to have a bit of a special night becomes more important than ever.Â
However, you’re busy, you’re tired, and you’ve probably got some killer meetings to sit through tomorrow. You don’t have the energy to have a party or anything like that. You need to keep it lowkey, easy, and effortless.Â
Thankfully, all of the ideas below are just that! If you need a midweek celebration that’ll break up the grind, here are the kind of ‘nights in’ you should try.Pexels Image – CC0 Licence

Make a Cake
Yes, you read that right! You’re having a bad week, and you deserve to pull a cake out of the oven, let it cool, frost it, and then dig in.Â
And seeing as both your standard vanilla and chocolate cakes are easier to make than you might think (and take quicker to cook too), you won’t be in the kitchen for very long at all.Â
Because what says ‘well done for surviving the week thus far!’ more than a cake? You can even write that on the top with an icing bag and nozzle, if you really want to!Â
Order a Big Takeout
If you’re having a bit of a bad week, nothing will fix it quite like a proper takeout with all the trimmings. If you’ve got a rainy day fund on the go right now, don’t be afraid to dip into it for the night and get you and your loved ones the kind of heartwarming pizza takeout you really need.Â
Then you can all sit down together as a family – or eat in your own peace and quiet, if that’s what you really want – and enjoy a dinner you didn’t have to go to the effort for.Â
And if that makes you feel bad, let us tell you now that it’s more than OK to need a takeout here and there. You don’t have to prove you can cook and/or provide every single night, especially when you’re not feeling well and just want to sit down and eat something!Â
Go to the Cinema
It’s still not too expensive to get a ticket, a bucket of popcorn (or some nachos), and spend a couple hours just watching a movie in the dark quiet of a movie theater.Â
So why not do so, whether it’s a Thursday evening or a Friday afternoon? If you’ve got the time, and you need something a bit more fun yet lowkey to do, take yourself off to the cinema!Â
When the worst week possible is hitting all at once, do something fun, easy, and special.Â
