What’s In Lipton Onion Soup Meatballs?

Lipton Homemade Meatballs are made with mostly ingredients you should have on hand. That’s one of the things that makes this recipe so amazing. You’ll need:

Meatballs

Ground Beef: I make this recipe with lean ground beef because I always have it on hand. You could use ground beef, ground pork, ground chuck, ground turkey, ground chicken, ground sausage, or any other ground meat you’d like.

Lipton Soup Mix: I added a whole envelope of Lipton onion soup mix to the other ingredients. Dry onion soup mix is made mainly of onions, salt, corn starch, onion powder, sugar, and soy sauce. It makes the meatballs so delicious!

You could add onion flakes or onion powder if you don’t have Lipton french onion soup mix. That would give it a wonderful onion flavor.

Oats: I use old fashioned oats when I make them. You could use quick oats or old fashioned rolled oats in you have those as well. Bread crumbs would also be amazing inlace of the oats!

Egg: Egg is one of the binding ingredients in this recipe. Plus, they’re delicious and super healthy!

Worcestershire Sauce: Worcestershire Sauce helps give the meatballs a great flavor! It is also one of the binding agents.

Sweet And Sour Sauce

My favorite way to make these meatballs is with sweet and sour sauce!

Ketchup: Ketchup is one of the ingredients that makes these meatballs so sweet and yummy. My whole family loves them!

Brown Sugar: Brown sugar is another ingredient that’s just there for amazing flavor. Those are my favorite ingredients!

Teriyaki Sauce: I use Yoshida’s teriyaki sauce with this recipe and it’s so yummy! Feel free to use whichever teriyaki sauce you’d like. You could also use barbecue sauce instead of teriyaki sauce.

Vinegar: Vinegar is the sour in “Sweet and Sour” in this recipe.

Mustard: Just a little bit of mustard really helps this recipe. But don’t worry if you don’t like mustard. I don’t like it and you can’t even tell it’s there. Pinky promise!

Pepper And Salt: Add black pepper and salt to taste.

You can also add garlic powder, Italian seasoning, parmesan cheese, or other spices that you want to!

When I make these meatballs, I pretty much always make the sweet and sour sauce with it. They would also be delicious with marinara sauce, spaghetti sauce, or tomato sauce!

How Do You Make Meatballs?

How to Store Meatballs

The best way to keep meatballs fresh is to store them in an airtight container or plastic wrap in the fridge for up to three days.

Freeze them! If you have leftover meatballs that you’re not going to eat the next day, you should freeze them. Flash freeze the meatballs first on a cookie sheet in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.

Then you can put them in an airtight container or ziplock back and freeze them. They will be good for up to six months. When you’re ready to eat frozen meatballs, you can either allow the meat to thaw or cook it from frozen.
