How to make Spiced Pumpkin Beer Bread

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

Whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cloves in large bowl until well blended. Combine sugar, pumpkin, lager, oil and eggs in medium bowl. Beat until well blended. Add this to flour mixture. Stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in walnuts (I actually used pecans).

Pour batter into prepared pan; smooth top. Bake about 1 hour or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes.Remove to wire rack. Cool 1 hour before serving.

  • 1 1/4 cups candied pumpkin
  • 3/4 cup lager
  • 1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
