35 Fall Date Ideas for Couples That Are Actually Fun
Fall may be my favorite season for dating your own spouse. The weather finally cools down, everything feels a little cozier, and even an ordinary Saturday can feel special with a warm drink and somewhere pretty to explore. I’ll always be a summer girl at heart, but when that little touch of cool hits, it spins up something romantic in the air! So we’ve put together 35 fall date ideas that are actually fun and attainable so you can choose something romantic, playful, adventurous or completely relaxed. Whether you have a whole weekend, or only a couple of hours, there is something on the list for you!
You do not need an elaborate trip or an expensive reservation to reconnect. Some of the best fall dates are simple: a drive with the windows down, or in our case, a motorcycle ride, dinner outside, a fire in the backyard or a slow morning with nowhere else to be.
The idea is, just pick one and do it! Don’t let the days go by and pass up the opportunity to date your spouse! Let it be your greatest adventure this fall to reconnect and spark that fire once again.

Cozy fall dates at home
- Make a fall dinner together and open a bottle of wine.
- Create a caramel-apple tasting board with several toppings.
- Have a backyard fire with music and no television.
- Watch a nostalgic movie from when you first started dating.
- Make breakfast for dinner and add pumpkin pancakes or waffles for a fall twist.
- Build a blanket nest on the porch and talk after dark.
- Mix two fall cocktails and rate them like very unqualified judges.
- Order takeout, light candles and put the phones in another room.
- Plan your holiday calendar together before the busy season begins.
Free or inexpensive fall dates
- Walk through a pretty neighborhood and choose your favorite porch.
- Visit a farmers market and pick one ingredient for dinner.
- Browse a bookstore and choose a book for your partner.
- Volunteer together at a food pantry, church event or community project.
- Make coffee at home and watch the sunrise.
- Create a shared fall bucket list.
- Sit outside with a deck of cards and your favorite snacks.
- Choose a nearby town you have never explored and spend the afternoon exploring.
The point is not to complete every fall date idea. Choose one that sounds like the two of you and put it on the calendar before fall gets away. A good date is less about what you do and more about being intentional with the time you spend together.
