Baking Cookbooks for Christmas – Oh Yes! Here are Some I Would Like

I am of the firm belief that a person cannot have too many cookbooks. The husband does not agree with me here but I also do not see him complaining about the food he eats around this place. I will admit that with moving and trying to get settled and the sad excuse for a kitchen I currently have, cooking and baking haven’t been at the forefront for me. It’s been things like fixing up what we can – like adding a cedar lined closet and trying to keep Fang out of the ceiling. You know, simple things. (eye roll) But I did ask the husband for some cookbooks for Christmas so read on to learn about some popular and some esoteric options for the bakers on your holiday list. I will follow up with a cookbook list for cooks at the end of the week.

Baking Cookbooks
First I will share favorites that I own, if I have time next week I will share the ones I covet. Now my favorite baking cookbooks are a series from America’s Test Kitchen. Giving the baker in your life all three will surely give them a big smile.

I use them all, all the time but probably use The Perfect Cake most of all. The recipes are well written and I have never had a fail from any of them. My all time favorite New York Crumb Cake recipe is in the pages of that book.

COOKIES!
My next favorite cookie cookbooks comes from Dorie Greenspan. In fact, I have several of her cookbooks and I never fail to find magic within the covers.
Her latest, Baking with Dorie is on my Christmas list. Fingers crossed husband!
I would not say no to a cookie cookbook from King Arthur Flour! This one looks like a good one! Mmmm, cookie recipes.
And given all of the fun I have had with Bake with a Legend classes and the online group, how could I pass up a Great British Bake Off Cookbook?
I would not pass up an excuse to make some of the delicious treats from the show like Sacher Torte or Millionaire’s Shortbread. I cannot wait until I have my new kitchen so I can really BAKE again. You can get a peak at what I have made in the past – including an impressive mess in my kitchen on this roundup post.
This leads me slightly off topic to Bake with a Legend Classes – they would also make an awesome present for the baker on your list!
If you want to join a fun group full of bakers of every level come to the Great British Bake Off Bakealong Group on Facebook. It’s a lot of fun and I know I’ve learned a lot since I’ve been there.
