Why I Love it:

Well, for one thing it’s full of delicious cake recipes. I have adapted many of them here on the blog. You see, while I do have many, many, many cookbooks I rarely follow the recipes in them. I generally read a boatload of them before I embark upon my baking or cooking and then I go forth.

What I create generally has something to do with where I started but a lot of times you would be hard pressed to figure out what. In some cases I only change one or two small things. In others it’s whaaaaaa?

Baking is a bit more challenging as it is more science than art where cooking is more art than science. But I miss both greatly right now since I am really doing neither.

But this is truly my go/to cookbook when it comes to cakes. I also have The Perfect Cookie and The Perfect Pie. I feel equally strongly about them when it comes to well, cookies and pies. Except for pie crust. I have my own pie crust recipe.

But then…don’t we all?
