Got Berries? Here are Some Strawberry Recipes!
I am sitting here waiting to receive a bulk order of strawberries from a local farm. A flat will be arriving and I will put most of them in the freezer so we can enjoy them in the weeks to come. But I will use some of those 12 pounds in my favorite strawberry recipes like pie as I do love a fresh strawberry pie.
When we left Montana to move to the small city of Brattleboro, Vermont, I thought I left bulk processing of anything behind me. But lo and behold, the local strawberry farm offers the ability to buy a flat of berries!
I was excited about this because the husband had been purchasing blueberries from the local blueberry farm but alas, I do not like blueberries. Now there will be a fruit in the freezer that I can enjoy as well.

The husband and I capped the strawberries and got them on cookie sheets and they are now freezing in the deep freezer. Once they are solid we will pop them into freezer containers.
Except for those that I am keeping out to make my pie. I do love fresh strawberry pie! As I noted in my original recipe post, it goes very well with homemade vanilla ice cream.
