Halloween!
I love Halloween and yet I’ve lived most of my life in places with no trick or treaters. That doesn’t mean that I don’t eat enjoy all of the sweets and treats that go along with the day. Especially the holiday colored Sixlets® from Celebration by Freyâ„¢. They are perfect for making spooky treats like these easy and colorful crispy rice treats. It doesn’t matter if you are making them for yourself or for your holiday parties, you will find just what you need to make your treats special at Celebration by Frey.

I’ll be ready for the costumed visitors – I’ve got my treat basket filled with Sixlets and gumballs; some have scary eyes, and some have Nerds inside! I have to admit that I love the gumballs with nerds inside; that little extra bit of sour is such a surprise. These tasty (and spooky) candies can be found at the stores where you regularly do your shopping – Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Wegmans, Meijer among others.

That makes it easy to pick up a selection to have ready for the little ghouls and goblins that will come knocking at your door.
Sixlets are not just for munching! You can also use them for making spooky treats for Halloween. I decided to spookify a popular favorite of both kids and adults. As I was making them it seemed to me that the melting marshmallows looked like melting ghosts.

Easy and Colorful Crispy Rice TreatsÂ
4 TBS butter
1 bag, 16 oz marshmallows
6 cups crispy rice cereal
1 1/2 cups Halloween Mix Sixlets®
Line a 13x9x2″ baking dish with parchment paper and spray the paper with cooking spray
Melt the butter in a heavy bottomed, medium stock pot.

Add the marshmallows and stir until all the marshmallows are melted.
Remove from heat.

Add the rice cereal and stir to combine.
Add in the Sixlets and stir until well distributed.
Place the mixture in the prepared pan and spread. Smooth the top and let cool.

Cut into pieces.
Mmmm, chocolatey, marshmallowly and crunchy. What more could you ask of a treat? And the beauty of this is that you can add in colors of Sixlets for any holiday and make these treats all year round. You could also do this with other Halloween candies or sprinkles.
