I cooked a small ham the other night and after eating it for a couple of nights I still had some left over. I didn’t want to put it in the freezer so I got to thinking – what could I do that was easy and would take advantage of ingredients I already had on hand in the yurt.

I decided to make a stuffed bread and when it was done I realized that it would make an excellent Game Day Snack! It’s something you can easily pull together, bake and then serve while your guests are enjoying the game. It can be eaten by hand and it’s very versatile. You can mix up the filling in a myriad of ways; you just need meat, a vegetable and cheese.

Bring the dough strips together, twist them twice and lay them down. Do this for all of the strips until you reach the ends. Fold the end piece over, bring the strips together and twist.
Brush the bread with the egg wash and place on the preheated pizza stone.
I used pizza dough and I baked it for 20 minutes.

We had this for dinner and it was delicious. Cheesy and smoky and yummy. But if you cut it into pieces and served it on a platter it would be perfect for Game Day.

The monteray jack was perfect with the ham and I can see it working just as well with leftover chicken. So it’s a great way to take your leftovers to the Big Game!
